  • Coming this HALLOWEEN to the BFI LONDON IMAX Cinema in Waterloo , the UK's 1st HALLOWEEN 48 Hour Film Challenge ( Horror themed weekend )
  • The event promises to be one of the most cutting edge and exciting independent filmmaking events in the United Kingdom in 2005 ,the event where entrants get to work with the new High definition video format and DVCAM which is cutting edge of digital cinema upon us now ,
    our event is based on our historic National 48hour Film Challenge in 2003 which created over 488 short films in only 48hrs making cinema history for most short films ever created in only 48hrs , our next event keeps to the original competition but we have had to tweak it a little bit but we have kept to the same format as before , if its not broke dont fix it ?
    For those familiar with the challenges , you are given another 48-hours to create a script, shoot, direct, edit and you have to produce into a final 3-minute short horror film on DIGITAL Format for screening on Monday night Halloween Monday the 31st Oct at the Amazing BFI LONDON IMAX CINEMA in Londons Waterloo

  • To some this sounds like a walk in the park if you have used HDV or DVCAM before and to others you may be thinking that you couldn't get hold of a HDV kit in time Wrong , VMI Broadcast are sponsoring the challenge and they have over 20 HDV kits PD170 AND PD170 and HDV Cameras available for hire at FAIR price for teams taking part in this event .Contact Richie at VMI on 08708501444
  • Ratio for screening 16.9 or 4.3 only please

  • On the day of the event (Sat Oct. 29th at THE NEW START TIME OF 09:00am ), you will then be given a film title, and two film genre (e.g. horror, comedy, horror thriller etc. ) You then have just 48-hours to return your completed film on HDV or DVCAM (mini dv format size tape) you MUST use any 3CCD CAMERA or DVCAM or HDV cameras Mini dv size tapes only
  • - SONY JVC PANASONIC CANON etc , learn HD and DVCAM learn what team work means when your making a film don't get left behind !
  • Teams will be invited to a special free Lighting workshop at the Imax before the launch of the event by movie lighting company ARRI plus hopefully VMI will be showing a few HDV cameras and an Adobe tec will be on hand with any Editing questions , they will show teams some real helpful tips on how to light your HDV and DVCAM horror movie !
    The challenge is meant to be a fun and inspirational weekend for filmmakers just starting out using the new HDV format or veteran's of this new digital format , Registration Date opens OCT 1ST ONLINE
