digital guerrilla film makers & the 48 hour film challenge creator johnnie oddball

As a producer, line producer, unit production manager or assistant director, johnnie has over three feature films to his credit. Currently, he is attached as line produce writer/director on a comedy "lost in the making" for Anonymous Features company ltd. Earlier in 2003, he wrote produced and CO-directed his 2nd feature THE DARK HUNTER , an action-packed horror thriller for d. g . f productions ,
In 2004 he produced 4 film making events around Europe which included London , Berlin , Paris , Bulgaria plus an event at 2004's Cannes film festival . he hopes the events will get distributed around the world by the British council .


Johnnie's break as a production manager came in 2003, when he worked on an 1930 LA style movie called "flamingo blues" education in the craft of onset productions came easy as johnnie had a list of contacts only gained by experience working on features and shorts over the years . Since 1994, he has worked on major features films all over the United Kingdom and overseas in Germany and France


One of the films johnnie is most proud of producing is THE DARK HUNTER, which became a groundbreaking success for Guerrilla film makers as it was a 90min full length feature film shot in just 12 days on DV with a very limited budget and a small cast n crew of just 30 people ,
Johnnie almost received a bachelor's degree in Theater Arts at Birkbeck college london , but he only did One year before he was out their again making films instead of watching them , he was now learning how it was done from being on film sets and working with experience directors and producers and actors , in 1998 he started film club uk in clapham a networking event for budding film makers to se their work johnnie then helped start the Greenwich film festival and the portabello film festival ,

he was awarded "FILM PERSON OF THE YEAR 2003" by fringe reports established theatre panel of judges,
he founded and serves as artistic director of events for the oddball challenge , a group dedicated to inspiring film makers into making films in just 48 hours and 24 hours on a shoestring . He entered the film industry as a lighting technician and gained experience and contacts by starting at the bottom and working his way up in the industry , he has spent the last three years running the successful 48 hour film challenges around Europe and in the UK ,the event made cinema history in 2003 when 488 short films where produced in just 48hrs in 4 regions around the UK at the same time !

he works as associate producer on highly established tv production company for a sky tv channel . a member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain , and Independent Feature Project/UK member , in 2005 johnnie has been asked to run a 24 hour DV crash course as part of the award winning Raindance film courses in April 2005 , johnnie is now in development of the 1st ever 24hr film challenge in the Cannes film festival 2005 , this is set to raise the awareness of event to film makers from all over the world who will be attending the festival .maybe some named directors actors and actress may want to take part in the action in cannes ?
