......HALLOWEEN 48 HOUR FILM CHALLENGE 2005 (last word) Well done to every team who made a film within the challenge, we screened all of the films so no one got left out it was such a wild and fun event i really loved running it , even if it did go on till after midnight (sorry) ! but now everyone can say they got their films screened in the biggest cinema in Europe (The bfi London IMAX Cinema )you now have a film which you can send to HORROR film festivals around the world , films from other challenges have won film festivals over short films which where made with big budgets and weeks of filming not 48hrs !! so now you can go for it and see what you can get ? "do or do not their is now no excuse for not trying" some films where on the new HDV format and they looked stunning on the big screen but most where dvcam which also looked great , the films where so cool i was so excited to see them on the big screen for all the film makers as i was with my trailers at the start of the event ,some really amazing film where created from the teams over the Halloween weekend which is such a great feeling for me and must of been for you the film makers , its not about the winning its about doing it and learning from it for your next film production , one director from 2003 went on to direct two feature films after doing the challenge it gave him the kick up the arse we all need sometimes , its easy to be a critic but its so much harder to become a film maker , i did this event on my own this time like i did with the very 1st challenge in 2002 at the curzon cinema in SOHO so i had no staff nightmares to deal with or technical problems as i did it all which is the best way , i learned alot from the challenge and i hope the film makers did as well , i hope you the film makers learned that team work is everything in film making their is no time for egos team work is the biggest part of film making , its film making at its best where creative people get inspired and produce wonderful films , their is no such thing as a bad film in this event in my eyes i look at it as a real learning event for everyone, the event is all of these things in one Again i must give a big thank you to all the staff at the IMAX including lucy jennings without her help the event would never of happened and a big thank you to you the film makers for making the event such a wild and wonderful event for me as was my 1st event in 2002, i hope to see some of the films from this event in the next fright fest in 2006 i wish you all the best in the future and hope i have kick started some of you back into what you love about film making and hopefully you have got the passion back of film making again ? your host johnnie oddball NEW YORK UPDATE : We asked for all of the winning team members mobile numbers for us then pick one mobile number at random the one picked was the director of the winning film haunted boneyard The director of the winning film haunted graveyard was then called by the director of Digital Film Academy New York on sat the 5th Nov the director was then awarded his prize to visit the academy in New York city over the next few months and sit in on one of the academys wonderful courses , the flights and acomadation would be arranged for the winner , the ticket was left open for a year A big thank you to Patrick the Director of Digital Film Academy in New York for this wonderful prize .....
